North Park still books late gels while a Pacific Beach shop is running a pedicure row by noon. Hillcrest walk-ins and Mission Valley suites share one fact. The person who holds the floor owns the shop. San Diego nail salon insurance is for that owner. The tech who rents a station belongs on our San Diego booth renter insurance page. What San Diego Nail Salon Insurance Should Cover
Carry general liability and professional liability in the shop’s name. A slip on salon tile beside a pedicure throne is a liability claim. An alleged infection, a cuticle cut, or a reaction to product you applied is a professional claim. Additional insured on a renter form does not rebuild the shop’s lines. Our nail salon insurance guide covers the split. Quote the shop on the nail salon insurance service page. Marine-layer mornings make floors slick. That is a premises story for the owner who mops the waiting room.
If you occupy a suite in a Mission Valley or UTC building, the certificate often names a landlord. Bring that page. Property coverage matters when thrones and lamps live in a room you control.
California’s Establishment License Is Not a Policy
The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology FAQ is direct. Only the owner of the establishment applies for that license. Only one establishment license is issued per address. A booth renter does not apply. Some suite buildings still run one license for the address. Some suite lessees obtain their own. Neither version is your general liability or professional liability policy. The same board also says it does not differentiate among independent contractors, booth renters, and employees when a citation is written. The owner can be cited for a station even if the tech is not there. That is why you want renter certificates. It is also why the shop needs a policy in its own name.
North Park Gels and Pacific Beach Pedicure Rows
Shared storefronts in North Park, South Park, and Barrio Logan look nothing like a lockable suite in Kearny Mesa. The insurance family is the same when you own the shop. Tell us if you only paint polish or if you run acrylic, gel, dip, and waxing. Coastal salt is a maintenance story for metal tools. An alleged infection is an insurance story. Street parking in Pacific Beach does not change the professional file. A wet entry after June gloom does.
Renters, AB5, and the Second Location
Some owners keep a weekday shop and a Saturday row in a different neighborhood. Two leases are two certificate stories. California classification is a legal question we do not decide in a blog. We do ask who collects the money, who sets the hours, and whose product is on the table. Those facts go on the application so workers compensation and renter certificates are not a surprise. If you only rent a chair, stop here and use the booth renter page. The longer owner explainer also lives on our salon insurance coverage guide.
