3 Top Places to Live in Las Vegas

You may feel overwhelmed when you are trying to find the right spot to settle down in Las Vegas. After all, there are tons of suburbs here. Let’s narrow it down for you. We will highlight 3 top-rated Las Vegas suburbs including Summerlin, Green Valley Ranch, and Centennial Hills. Our hope is to help you find a great community fit where you and yours will thrive!

Summerlin

Summerlin is a master-planned community, which keeps the area quality-controlled. It is set up for social and recreational entertainment. Downtown Summerlin opened in 2014 and is a hot spot for dining, entertainment, and shopping. Concerts, art festivals, community picnics, and a farmer’s market are regularly held at Downtown Summerlin.

If you are more of the get-out-in-nature type, Summerlin has a trail system that is made for you. It includes over 150 miles of trails that connect the neighborhoods and lead into the desert. Additionally, bikers will have no trouble finding long, safe trails. Summerlin is situated close to Red Rock Canyon https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/. You can enjoy the view of the mountains from your home. Plus, it is only a short drive to go on hikes in the canyon. Over 200 parks are also open for the public’s enjoyment.

Are you a baseball fan? The Las Vegas Ballpark, where the Las Vegas Aviators play, is in the heart of Summerlin. Or if you’re into golf, you can check out http://www.golfsummerlin.com and see some of the beautiful courses Summerlin has to offer. With all these amenities, it’s no wonder many players on the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team have chosen to settle down in this area!

Green Valley Ranch

Green Valley Ranch (GVR) is another master-planned community. It is located just outside of Vegas in Henderson, NV. GVR has been coined the “Emerald in the Desert” and for good reason! The District at Green Valley is the hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment here. The schools in this area are some of the highest-rated in Vegas, making GVR a great option for growing families.

According to niche.com, 69% of residents own their homes in GVR. The Green Valley Ranch Community Association’s vision is to create “the most desirable Master Planned Community as a result of increasing property values, visual beauty, safety and community involvement.” There are plenty of parks in GVR and a recreational center, too. The Lifeguard Arena, where the Silver Knights practice, has open skate events and offers skate and hockey lessons for all ages https://www.lifeguardarena.com/. You also have great access to I-15 from this area, which will cut down on your travel time to other parts of the city.

Centennial Hills

Centennial Hills is located in NW Las Vegas. It is a growing community with lots of space. Centennial is about a 25-30 minute drive to The Strip (depending on your exact starting point). Whether you are looking for a one-bedroom apartment, a custom 5,000 sq. ft. home, or anything in-between, Centennial Hills will probably have an option for you. Centennial Hills has a reputation for being a quiet community. You will also find a local library, hospital, and several parks within the area.

As you can see from the photo above, there is a stunning view of the mountains from the Centennial Hills area. Centennial Hills is fairly close to Mount Charleston. At Mount Charleston, you can hike, camp, and even ski https://www.gomtcharleston.com/. The 680-acre Floyd Lamb State Park is also nearby. Floyd Lamb State Park has plenty of wildlife, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and historic sites where you can learn more about the area’s history as a cattle ranch. https://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Residents/Parks-Facilities/Floyd-Lamb-Park
