RV insurance is a different product depending on how you use the rig. A weekend camper needs different coverage than someone living in a motorhome full-time. We help you match the policy to the lifestyle so there are no surprises at claim time.

Motorhomes and towable trailers are insured differently.

A motorhome is a self-propelled vehicle that needs its own standalone insurance policy with liability coverage. A towable trailer – whether it’s a travel trailer, fifth wheel, or toy hauler – relies on your tow vehicle’s liability while hitched, but your auto policy does not cover physical damage to the trailer itself. That requires a separate RV policy or endorsement.

Recreational vs. full-timer – two different products.

If you take your RV out for a few weekends a year, a recreational policy covers you. If you live in it for more than six months out of the year, you need a full-timer policy. A recreational policy assumes you have a house somewhere else carrying your homeowners coverage. When the RV becomes your primary residence and that house is gone, a recreational policy leaves gaps in liability, personal property, and medical payments that a full-timer policy is designed to fill.

Vacation liability covers what auto does not.

When your RV is parked at a campground and someone gets injured at your site, standard auto liability is not built for that exposure. Vacation liability fills the gap. Some policies include a small default amount – sometimes as low as $10,000. If you camp regularly, that may not be enough. We’ll make sure your limit matches how you actually use the rig.

How your RV gets valued on a total loss matters.

RVs depreciate quickly. Most policies default to actual cash value, which pays the market value at the time of loss minus depreciation. If you owe more on the loan than the rig is worth, you’re covering the difference. Agreed value, total loss replacement, and gap coverage are all options worth discussing before a claim happens – not after.

Don’t cancel your policy during the off-season.

Canceling can create a gap in your insurance history that affects your eligibility, discounts, or pricing when you come back. A storage option keeps comprehensive coverage in place while reducing what you don’t need. If the rig is financed, your lender almost certainly requires continuous coverage regardless.

We write RV insurance in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and California. Whether you’re a weekender at Lake Mead or a full-timer on the road, we’ll walk through exactly what your policy needs.
